A New Residency @ The Echo! It's Corners!
Now that all that nasty June Gloom has passed, it's high time July kicked into full gear! To help get the summer going, The Echo has recruited L.A locals Corners to get your beach towel out and get them beach-punk feet moving! Lolipoppers and garage maniacs through and through, Corners bring, raw licks, lo-fi production and general troublemaking with each hi-hat smash and wall of reverb. It's perfect for some sweaty July nights and we hope to catch you in the fray every Monday night! Tonight's openers also include OV alums Froth alongside Dirt Dress and Drinking Flowers, so it's pretty much a perfect bill. Check some Corner's goodness below and we'll see you soon!

OV Presents TWO NIGHTS of Cloud Nothings + METZ @ The Roxy!
Yes you read that right, OV is teaming up with FYF + Goldenvoice to present Cloud Nothings & METZ tonight & tomorrow at The Roxy!
Released earlier this year, Cloud Nothings newest LP, Here And Nowhere Else could almost be called a "mature" record for the band based on its intense focus and production. For the band's refinement and evolution of their sound, Here And Nowhere Else has grabbed stellar reviews across the board and looks poised to appear on many year-end lists. We've been digging it ourselves in the shop and can't wait to get wild with you tonight when the band hits the Roxy Theatre with METZ!

New Releases Are Brews That Don't Explode In The Freezer! OV Presents Cloud Nothings @ The Roxy (again)!
Somehow all the comedy today is drink related. OV obviously needs a glass of cold water. Anyways, we've got some kickass music coming through this week at OV and we don't want you to miss out! Alongside the announcement of our Rentals pre-order(!) we've got new music from Yellow Ostrich, Wolves In The Throne Room and Syd Barrett that we wanna get into your hands! Twilight Concert Series with Cults & James Supercave!
As part of Santa Monica's awesome FREE summer concert series, OV alum James Supercave will be joining Cults at the pier this Thursday night! Touring in support of his EP The Afternoon, James has slowly been climbing the L.A ladder and we're stoked to see him on the big stage in Santa Monica. So convince your friends SM isn't that far away and go see Cults and James Supercave tonight at the Santa Monica Pier!

Even though Neil has like, totally abandoned us, we still think he's pretty cool. One of the cool things he does is curate a weekly vinyl DJ extravaganza Upstairs @ The Ace Hotel featuring Chris Ziegler, DJ Soft Touch, Frosty, Mukta Mohan, Nick Waterhouse, Steve Harrington, The Gaslamp Killer and himself! Greys In-Store @ 7PM!
Strap your shoelaces tight and get ready for a raucous night of grungey punk rock with Greys! Coming all the way from our favorite neighbors to the north (Canada) Greys is touring on the release of their new album If Anything off of Buzz and Carpark Records and it kicks some serious butt. Self described as "loud rock" these guys sound like a mix between The Ramones and Wavves, putting a new-age twist on the classic punk rock sound with distorted guitars, shouting vocals, and catchy riffs that are sure to get you jumping all over the place.

Yellow Ostrich In-Store @ 3PM!
From their practice space in the heart of Brooklyn, Yellow Ostrich frontman, Alex Schaff, studied astronomers and stargazed from his tiny window, in search for songwriting inspiration. The result was their newest album, Cosmos, a dreamscape of astral guitar rock and electronic ambience that makes you feel like your floating through space! Building off their alt-rock backgrounds, Yellow Ostrich fused their modern sound with the a classic 70's psychedelic rock, creating a dense soundscape that might just make you see some stars on a gloomy LA night!
